Experience & Visitor Centre Design

Plan the whole visit before selecting individual exhibits. We design and deliver storytelling, visitor journeys, spatial concepts and integrated technical experiences for branded experience centres, visitor centres and interpretive spaces, with fabrication and installation developed from the approved concept.

A connected journey from arrival to discovery

An experience centre might explain a development, introduce an organisation or guide visitors through a heritage story. Each needs a clear arrival, an intelligible sequence, places to pause and a useful conclusion. We work from the client’s approved narrative and visitor needs to establish that sequence before choosing projection, touchscreens or scenic treatment.

Immersive master planning shapes the visitor experience through zoning, circulation, interaction points and approximate dwell time. Experience engineering brings content, fit-out and AV together as a coordinated spatial and technical plan, developed with the client’s building consultants.

We develop the centre-wide design and delivery plan, linking the narrative to the space, exhibits and operating needs. Museum digital experiences adds exhibit fabrication, interpretation and museography; permanent AV integration supplies the venue media systems. These packages can be combined into one clearly defined project scope.

Scope & deliverables

Narrative & visitor journey

Translate client-approved messages into a sequence of arrival, orientation, exploration and conclusion. Identify different language, age and accessibility needs.

Spatial experience concept

Zone interactive, presentation and quiet areas around the supplied floor plan. Coordinate circulation, sightlines and operational access with the venue team.

Experience engineering

Develop the AV, lighting, power, data, acoustic and maintenance interfaces for the experience, with engineering and building-consultant review at agreed design stages.

Content & exhibit schedule

Define each touchpoint, its intended message, content format, rights owner and production responsibility so the client can approve scope rather than isolated visuals.

Fit-out & installation planning

Design and fabricate scenic elements, joinery and graphics, integrating technical installation with existing finishes, building services and access windows through approved detailing.

Operating & renewal approach

Plan opening routines, staff-assisted journeys, replaceable content and service access. Record who owns source files, licenses and future update responsibilities.

Brief requirements & consultant interfaces

Share the approved story, visitor profiles, available plans, usable area, building condition, opening target and budget range. Identify any collections, protected surfaces, accessibility requirements and client-appointed architects, engineers or curators.

We agree concept-review stages and the level of spatial/technical documentation before work begins. Our experience design is developed alongside the appointed specialists responsible for fire strategy, building approvals and structural or MEP design, with clear interfaces and review milestones.

Our Bahrain HQ and Riyadh production capability support regional delivery from concept design through fabrication and technical integration. Post-opening support can be included as a defined package.

From brief to handover

  1. 1. Discovery — Agree narrative, audiences, site constraints and decision makers.
  2. 2. Visitor journey — Create the experience sequence and spatial concept.
  3. 3. Scope & feasibility — Review budgets, content, building interfaces and specialist dependencies.
  4. 4. Detailed coordination — Resolve touchpoints, finishes, AV and installation responsibilities.
  5. 5. Build & commission — Deliver the agreed fabrication and integration with staged acceptance.
  6. 6. Handover & renewal — Provide agreed documentation, training and a content-update route.

Common project questions

How is this different from your museum service?

It is a centre-wide experience design and delivery brief. Museum exhibit production and museography can form a defined package within that overall plan.

Can you start before a building is finished?

Yes, an early concept can use supplied plans, with assumptions clearly marked and revisited as the building information is confirmed.

How does the experience plan connect with building design?

We develop the spatial and technical plan for the visitor experience alongside the client’s architects and building-services consultants. Agreed design reviews align exhibit placement, circulation, installation and operational access.

Who approves the story and facts?

The client’s subject specialists or curatorial team approve narrative and factual content. We translate that approved material into the experience.
