Jeddah Season production & scenic fabrication

Jeddah Season brings entertainment, culture and food zones to the city, including the waterfront and Al-Balad. We fabricate scenic builds, sponsor activations and kiosks and supply staging, LED and lighting for brands, agencies and zone operators.

Coastal conditions shape the build

Jeddah’s humidity and salt air are hard on timber, steel, print and electronics. We specify sealed finishes, corrosion-resistant fixings, outdoor-rated LED and cooled equipment enclosures, and plan for wind loads on waterfront sites.

In Al-Balad, the historic district, structures must be free-standing and reversible with no fixings into heritage fabric, and deliveries follow narrow-lane access windows. Arena and indoor venues such as Jeddah Superdome bring their own rigging and load rules.

Scenic fabrication for a Jeddah Season brief should start with the story and the way visitors encounter it. An entrance feature needs to read from the approach; a close-up photo setting needs convincing texture and careful joints; a sponsor kiosk needs a practical counter and storage behind the visual. Define which surfaces are seen, touched or climbed near before selecting a construction method. This helps the creative team put detail where it matters rather than apply the same finish to every part of a large scenic build.

For coastal Jeddah projects, exposure should be assessed for the actual plot and operating period. A sheltered indoor set, a covered hospitality area and an open waterfront façade face different conditions. Review sun exposure, moisture, cleaning, wind and any nearby public circulation with the site team. Select materials, fixings and electrical protection for that assessment, supported by the appropriate technical review. The proposal should describe the intended use and maintenance needs without presenting a material choice as proof of approval for every waterfront location.

A themed façade is most efficient to fabricate when its modules, support structure and finish system are developed together. Agree a transportable module size, assembly joints and the sequence for placing larger pieces. Consider how the scenic skin can be repaired without dismantling the structural frame. Where a sculpture or entrance gate carries lighting, allow routes for cables and access to fittings within the design. Workshop checks can then assess both the visual result and how the pieces will be assembled on the allocated site.

The Jeddah location also affects the visual language. A contemporary waterfront activation, a cultural programme near historic surroundings and an indoor performance environment should not all receive the same decorative treatment. Use approved references and artwork to develop an appropriate palette, scale and narrative. For heritage-sensitive briefs, consult the site authority on permitted placement, protection and reversibility before detailing bases or fixings. Naming Al-Balad as a context does not establish permission to build there or make a previous edition's location the confirmed site of a future programme.

Scenic and technical production should share the same drawing set. LED, projection, loudspeakers and show lighting can change the appearance of a façade and require service access behind it. Establish sightlines and playback requirements before covering a structure with scenery. A photo feature benefits from testing shadows and camera angles, while a performance set needs review from audience and operator positions. The aim is a coherent environment in which the content, lighting and physical detail support one another, not several separately installed elements competing for space.

Agencies and brands taking part in Jeddah Season usually need scenic pieces that photograph well, survive weeks of humid evenings and can be installed without closing a public promenade. We combine scenic fabrication — themed façades, gates, sculptures — with the staging, LED, kiosks and sponsor lounges around them, delivered and maintained by one production team.

What we deliver here

Scenic fabrication

Themed façades, landmark sculptures, entrance gates and set pieces in timber, steel, GRP and foam, finished for coastal exposure.

Staging, LED, projection & lighting

Outdoor stages, LED screens and projection on façades for evening programmes.

Pop-ups, kiosks & F&B units

Modular kiosks, retail pods and food units built to the zone operator’s design code, with power, drainage and service access planned in.

VIP, hospitality & backstage

Sponsor majlis lounges, VIP decks, artist and crew backstage fit-outs, green rooms and production offices.

Maintenance during long runs

Daily checks, a planned spares list, repaint and re-skin cycles and an on-call crew so structures, LED and graphics still look right in week eight, not only on opening night.

Festival production & scenic builds

Entrances, scenic installations, VIP lounges, backstage fit-outs and wayfinding for festival sites.

Brand activations

Sponsor zones, pop-ups and interactive brand spaces built for public crowds and repeat daily operation.

AV, LED & lighting

LED walls, projection, sound and lighting specified to the content and space, installed and tested before doors open.

Kiosks & mall activations

Branded kiosks, pop-up units and mall atrium activations designed for mall rules and daily trading.

Outdoor sites & temporary structures

Tents, overlay, shade and temporary structures planned with ground conditions, wind, heat and access in mind.

Façade and sculpture detailing

Module joints, close-up finishes, hidden service routes and replaceable scenic skins developed together for the approved Jeddah plot.

Scenic and show integration

Audience views, lighting positions, screen content and backstage access coordinated before scenic fabrication is released.

Corniche & promenade installs

Hoarded work areas, night installation, barrier lines and ballasted structures so builds go up beside public walkways on the Jeddah waterfront.

Planning a Jeddah Season project

Useful inputs: the zone (waterfront, Al-Balad, arena or other), plot size, operator design code, opening hours, expected footfall and whether the activation runs for the full season or a set period.

Programme references: visitsaudi.com/en/seasons/jeddah-season. Season dates are announced by the organiser each year; we do not treat a previous edition’s dates as confirmation of the next.

To request a Jeddah scenic fabrication proposal, send the site and plot drawing, reference images, intended visitor interaction and the duration of the installation. Identify any existing creative design, approved artwork, structural review requirements and the items you expect to reuse. For stages, include the promoter's technical rider and event sequence; for kiosks, include counter equipment, stock and staff needs. That distinction makes it possible to price a fabrication-only package separately from a coordinated scenic, lighting and technical production scope.

Review logistics before the final scenic dimensions are fixed. Confirm delivery routes, unloading space, storage, assembly areas and approved work windows with the site team. Where a public route remains open, the operator should agree how construction and pedestrian circulation will be separated. A modular façade may reduce the work required on site, but the project still needs a lifting and assembly method appropriate to the location. Freight and installation dates should follow the confirmed programme rather than a general assumption about the season's opening.

During a longer run, plan inspections of finishes, edges, lighting and frequently handled parts. Agree cleaning methods that suit painted, printed and upholstered surfaces, and identify spare components that can restore a damaged section. Record any repair against the approved look so a quick intervention does not leave inconsistent colours or visible patches. At close-out, document the condition of reusable pieces, pack them by module and decide whether storage or refurbishment belongs in the quotation. This turns reuse into a practical design decision rather than a vague sustainability promise.

Local logistics: Jeddah Islamic Port is the main entry for imported equipment on the Red Sea coast, and modules prepared with our Riyadh production capability travel roughly 950 km by road. Where it saves time we use Jeddah-based suppliers for print, materials and equipment hire, and plan Al-Balad deliveries around its narrow-lane access windows.

How we work with you

  1. Brief — Share the event type, site or venue, dates if confirmed, audience and objectives.
  2. Site & rules check — We review access, power, rigging and the organiser or landlord rules that apply to this site.
  3. Design & proposal — Concept, 3D visuals and an itemised proposal so scope and cost are clear before commitment.
  4. Production & logistics — Off-site fabrication, technical preparation, transport and crew scheduling planned around the site window.
  5. Install, operate, dismantle — On-site build, testing, show support and a planned breakdown with the site handed back as agreed.

Frequently asked questions

Who do you work with on season projects?

Sponsor brands, creative and experiential agencies, zone operators and licensees, and entities taking a pavilion or activation inside a season. We work as their design-and-build and production contractor; the season itself is run by its organiser.

When is the next Jeddah Season?

Dates are announced by the season organiser for each edition. This page covers our production services and does not list edition dates; check the organiser’s official channels, and the event calendar on this site once dates are confirmed.

Can you provide drones, fireworks, security or artists?

Those are delivered by licensed specialist providers and the promoter. We coordinate our build, rigging and show schedule with them and leave space, power and safety zones for their work in our drawings.

Can you work inside Al-Balad?

Yes, with free-standing, ballasted structures and access planned with the site authority. Nothing is fixed into historic buildings.

Do you have an office or workshop in this location?

Our head office is in Manama, Bahrain, and we run Saudi projects with production capability in Riyadh. We plan delivery to each location project by project — travelling crews, transport and local suppliers where needed — rather than claiming a local office.

Do you fabricate in Jeddah or bring builds from Riyadh?

We plan it per project: scenic modules and technical kit can be prepared with our Riyadh production capability and trucked to Jeddah, while print, materials and some equipment are sourced from Jeddah suppliers when that suits the schedule.

Can you install on a waterfront plot that stays open to the public?

Yes. We hoard the work area, schedule heavy lifts and deliveries at night, and keep marshals and barrier lines in place so the promenade stays usable while the build goes up.
